Investigations
As a journalist, I believe deeply in truth, accuracy, and safety. My work on migration and displacement in the Balkans involves real people whose lives are fragile, and whose stories carry risk. For that reason, I have chosen not to publish my full investigations at this time.
Many of the people I meet are still in transit — without legal protection, often afraid of authorities or retaliation. Publishing their testimonies prematurely could expose them to danger or compromise their chances of asylum. Some of my reporting also takes place in sensitive areas where photography and note-taking can attract unwanted attention from local authorities or smugglers.
Beyond these ethical concerns, there is also a personal side. As someone who has lived the experience of migration myself, I carry both responsibility and emotion in every story. I want to ensure that when I share these investigations, they are fully verified, ethically sound, and told with dignity — not rushed or reduced to headlines.
This delay is not silence; it’s respect. The stories are being written, slowly and carefully. When the time is right — and when those involved are safe — they will be published in full.
Until then, I will continue documenting, listening, and sharing what I can through reflections, essays, and the smaller truths that connect us all.
